hmmm... i haven't seen this much bracelet action since WWJD
If you think the livestrong was bad, they're making all kinds of "respect" bracelets around here. Of course there's a handy profit for those who make it, and all those who wear their bracelet can feel social with their "Respect2All" bracelet..
AAGH!

It's just a sign of supporting troops.
There are signs for all sorts of things.
I get tired of how many gay people put stupid avatars up of the same "alternative"ly dressed persons (male or female)
I'm tired of people that rant about things like magnetic car things. Because, beleive me, this isn't the first time i've heard someone bitch about them.
But - this is America - at least people
a)have the right to put them on their car..
b)have the right to bitch about 'em.
Guess I really should've ignored this post.
for the viewing audience... allow me to go ahead
and let you know that the moronic statements
posted above comes from a nimrod who not only
has multiple piercings (for alternately gay reasons)
but also someone that would actively oppose a
fucking tree out of sheer boredom...
not to mention the fact that this person is/was/will soon not be
dating a person that is so fucking gay that she
couldn't mentally wrap herself around a stick
of bubblegum...
so there you have it folks....
earth vomit... literally is.
now back to your regularly scheduled thread

The girlfriend and I had a discusion about this the other day.I too think the ribbons are tacky.
Too often you run into people that actually are being more trendy then they are aware of the subject or cause that is being displayed on there ribbon.
Ive never felt this need to bond with others in a display for a cause. The girlfriend says this is because I am a reserve type of person that keeps his feelings in check at all times around strangers. She says others like to show there feelings and that I should not criticize them because they choose to "display" and I choose not to display.
The yellow Lance bracelet I feel a little diferently about.I recently read where they sold like 32 million of those things a dollar a pop for HIS CANCER FOUNDATION.Im a big Lance Armstrong guy and enjoy watching him in the Tour every year as well as Im an amateur cyclist myself,...so I feel like there is some credibility to his yellow braclets.(no I dont have one)
yeah. I understand that the bracelet funds do go to a good cause (as might the ribbon funds)...and there are some people that are displaying/wearing them for the cause, my beef is just with the people (a good majority of them) that are really only displaying/wearing them because everyone else is and then to so proudly boast that they have "supported."
so once again it boils down to motive.....
regardless.... to me its about the bandwagon...
sure someone can use 'the cause' as an excuse,
but lets face it, you are still jumping on the
bandwagon, only this time, trying to play it off
as something you've meant to do.
regardless.... its all gay
